Tips:

• Many blogging how-to's suggest that you get your own domain name.  Though this is true, you don't have to do this right away.
• Don't worry about graphics and layout too much until you are comfortable with your content and how to get it online.  Work on content first!
• Try making changes and note which changes produce better hits.
